Skin Concern
Pigmentation & Sun Damage
Clinical, evidence-informed care for sun spots, melasma, and uneven skin tone.
Pigmentation forms when melanin production is triggered by UV exposure, hormonal shifts, or inflammation — and it can sit deeper in the skin than it appears, which is why surface-level products often fall short.
What is Pigmentation?
Pigmentation is one of the most common skin concerns we see — and one of the most misunderstood. It shows up as sun spots, freckling, melasma, or uneven skin tone, and can develop from years of sun exposure, hormonal changes, or skin trauma long before it's ever visible on the surface.
Whether it's sun damage from years spent outdoors, stubborn pigmentation that skincare alone hasn't shifted, or uneven tone you'd simply like to even out — this is where we come in.
At The Dermal Clinic in Hervey Bay, pigmentation is treated based on what's actually causing it — not a single generic protocol. We use a combination of approaches, including Erbium/Pearl laser resurfacing, Class IV laser, and medical-grade peels, to target pigment at different depths within the skin.
Because pigmentation can return without proper sun protection and skin support, we also build in aftercare and product guidance as part of your plan — so results are something you maintain, not just achieve once.
Every plan starts with a Skin Assessment, so what you get is a course of treatment built for your skin — not someone else's.

Is this right for you?
Most pigmentation responds well to a clinical approach when paired with proper sun protection. Active melasma, pregnancy, or certain medications may change what's appropriate — this is assessed during your Skin Assessment, not assumed beforehand.
-
It can, particularly without daily SPF and appropriate skincare. Ongoing protection is part of maintaining results.
-
The Dermal Clinic, located at 164 Christensen Street, Urraween, offers clinical pigmentation treatment starting with a Skin Assessment.
-
Suitability depends on your individual skin and pigmentation type — this is confirmed during assessment.
