Laser Genesis Aftercare

Supporting skin healing and long-term results

Laser Genesis is a non-invasive, medical-grade laser treatment designed to improve redness, texture, pore appearance and overall skin quality by gently stimulating collagen and improving dermal circulation. One of the benefits of Laser Genesis is minimal downtime, however correct aftercare is still important to support skin health and treatment outcomes.

What to expect after treatment

Immediately following treatment, the skin may appear mildly pink or flushed and feel warm. This typically settles within a few hours and rarely lasts beyond 24 hours.

Some clients notice a subtle tightening or plumping effect in the days following treatment. Improvements in redness, texture and tone occur gradually over a course of treatments.

Bruising and swelling are uncommon but may occur in sensitive areas and will resolve with time.

First 24 hours

Keep the skin clean, calm and hydrated. A gentle cleanser and moisturiser may be used as advised by your clinician.

Avoid heat exposure for at least 24 hours. This includes hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, spas and vigorous exercise.

Make-up may be worn the following day provided the skin feels settled.

Sun protection

Sun protection remains essential following Laser Genesis, particularly in Queensland conditions.

Avoid direct sun exposure where possible and apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ daily. Protective clothing and hats are recommended when outdoors. Sun exposure can contribute to redness, pigmentation changes and reduced treatment efficacy.

Tanning beds, spray tans and self-tanning products should be avoided around the treatment area.

Skincare guidance

Avoid active or potentially irritating skincare products for several days post-treatment unless otherwise advised. This includes retinoids, vitamin A derivatives, benzoyl peroxide, exfoliating acids, scrubs and astringents.

Your clinician will advise when it is appropriate to resume your usual skincare routine and whether any modifications are recommended to support your treatment plan.

What not to do

Do not apply heat to the treated area.
Do not exfoliate or use harsh skincare products prematurely.
Do not intentionally tan the skin
.

Treatment progression

Laser Genesis delivers cumulative results and is most effective when performed as a series. Your clinician will guide you on treatment frequency, spacing and maintenance based on your skin concerns and response.
